A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Feinstein directed this production (in 2006) with over 130 student actors from both Holy Rosary
and Saint Benedicts college. In addition to adding choreography (by Vanessa Morris), over 60
actors were body painted as the forest creatures including the good and bad fairies, unicorns,
a phoenix and water nymph. The set consisted of many rostra that were disguised to appear like
an ancient Aztec ruin from which the magical characters would jump, run over and under and
appear from.

Feinstein changed the tradition of masculine and feminine roles and had many of the male parts
played by female student actors, including Puck who was portrayed as an African soothsayer.
