Theatre – My Passion
My first passion that started at a very young age has been the performing arts and as a professional director and acting coach for near on 20 years, I have had the privilege to work with some of the most enthusiastic and dynamic performers, coaching some who have gone on to receive great accolades for their work for both the stage and screen and others receiving international recognition through Netflix and other streaming services after their Indigo View training.
The Acting Academy
I devised, managed and directed an acting academy where actors would undergo an intensive training schedule, facilitated by myself and industry guests that I would bring in. What has always been remarkably special to me is to see that although not everyone would have pursued their acting career, it was the process itself, which every actor undergoes with Indigo View, that transformed many of their lives. Those who are and have been trained with us have taken the skills acquired into their personal and professional lives and endeavours because understanding the craft of acting is understanding the craft of quality living.
There are occasional group classes that take place but the majority of the training is one-on-one. Some of this content includes:
- Acting on stage versus acting on camera
- Truthfulness and presence in performance
- Exploring and understanding the Psychology of Characters
- Storytelling tools and techniques
- Voice and body language
- Page to stage tools and techniques; text analysis and reading
- Developing critical thinking and personal individuality
- Connecting with an audience; live versus screen
- Connecting and harnessing the skills actors acquire through harnessing personal strengths that they learn to identify in themselves through the process
Book A Consultation
For one-on-one training, a first consultation will need to take place so that I can better understand your needs, existing skill sets and challenges in order to gain a better sense of your objectives and acting styles; following this, we will then know what path and direction to take.
Depending on the needs of the student and the existing challenges facing them, coaching sessions could last between 6 to 24 weeks, sometimes longer depending on the individual and their personal objectives.
Indigo View In Action
"Steven has helped me navigate my inhibitions as an actor in a way I never imagined. Although I feel that there is much work him and I still need to do together, what he has done for me so is hold up a mirror so I can see myself clearer. His approach is nothing like I’ve experienced in an academic environment. Our sessions are a space to explore the different layers of a human being. Steven is empathetic. He is patient. And very uncompromising with the truth, and that has made him the best coach for me. I look forward to working with him further as I have seen much growth from our first encounter. " - Nontuthuko Myalezwa
"The past year addressed the creative blocks and poor habits I'd developed while working on television sets. Work and gigs are lining up thanks to the extensive technical classes that refined my auditioning and self tape skills. This programme facilitated my personal growth; the pressure and intensity of the course refines me and increases the quality of my work." - Didintle Khunou
"My experience has been life changing. Thank you for propelling me into my truth and full potential." - Phumzile Mhlanga

Indigo View has been a safe space for daunting breakthroughs, exploration and discovery. How liberating! There can be no measure of the value of this course. " - Samela Tyelbooi

Attending workshops at Indigo is how I take care of this investment. I am booking work again and having fun doing what I love!" - Bathabile Mashigo

"Working with Steven has helped me to accept all the different parts of myself and share my truth with the world. I have come to love and accepting all of my messy and beautiful moments on camera. Industry professionals taught us not only with their expertise, but also with their presence and through the experiences of collaboration to tell a story. I am truly grateful for this journey." - Sachi Fuji
"This mentorship was not what I’d expected, it’s not your typical acting class or coach. Steven’s unique approach to my psychology as an individual and how that impacts my acting was enlightening, at times difficult to work through but always nurturing and encouraging. I would recommend this course to all performers feeling stuck or lost in their approach as well as to those simply looking to hone their craft. You’ll get a lot more than you bargained for but the tools you learn will help you both in life and your approach to performance. There is so much that I’ve learned and so much still that I understand now I need to practice in order to experience the most liberated, present and honest performances for me and having a mentor like Steve through the journey is of immeasurable worth. Five stars." - Lindiwe Dim

Having begun working with Mr. Feinstein in October of last year, I have felt my abilities as a performer greatly improve. His holistic approach to acting, starting with the human first and unlocking any traumatic barriers/conditioning that might be holding them back as a person, thus holding them back as a performer, is something I had never experienced before. I also appreciate that the program was tailored for my individual needs and my level of experience as an actor. Whether you’re only starting out as an actor or have been performing for years, Indigo View is definitely the place to go to really improve your craft! – Thato Dithebe
I have evolved so much as an individual since starting acting and personal coaching with Steven. He has helped me unravel, nurture and release some of my childhood trauma and conditioning which has helped free my spirit as a young adult. I feel more confident in myself and I have learned to set healthy boundaries as a recovering co-dependent which have positively influenced my closest relationships. I feel like I have a stronger grasp on my reality and who and what I engage with. I also feel like a stronger performer with more practical tools to perform and study characters in depth and have crafted a process that supports my performance on set. Steven has easily become an integral part of my life and I am always looking forward to our sessions and always leave feeling reflective and more confident in myself and life choices! – Khosi Ngema
Indigo View has played such an important part of my growth. I started working with Steven when I just turned 19, a young girl seeking guidance and hoping to better her craft. I enrolled in the acting programme and what a life changing experience that was. I really enjoyed the sessions, as tough as they were I believe it shaped me into a better performer – a more present and sensitive one. Steven, thank you for creating a safe space for me to come as I am, flawed and all. My journey has not been easy but you’ve helped me embrace it anyway. It’s always such a pleasure to learn from you and I look forward to our sessions every single time. – Ama Qamata
It’s difficult to put into words just how important and necessary the work done at Indigo View is. Steven has been a Godsend and has an understanding of the artistic mind beyond anyone I’ve met thus far. He helped me realise one’s relationship with self is a vital cog in the machine of creating authentic work. I will forever be grateful. – Ngwato Mamiane
